Studio Ghibli Releases Free Backgrounds for Video Meetings17.04.2020
The marvelous animations from Hayao Miyazaki, Isao Takahata, and other artists hailing from the legendary Japanese studio will help you create a very special atmosphere in your online video meetings.
Studio Ghibli is the world-renowned, critically acclaimed studio that changed the way the world saw animated films. The studio’s most famous productions, including fan-favorite titles such as "Spirited Away" (2001), "Princess Mononoke" (1997), or "My Neighbor Totoro" (1988), have recently been finding new audiences among younger generations thanks to a new digital distribution deal with Netflix.
The Studio has been making the news recently, on account of its expanding streaming catalogue and reports about its latest film, and the recently released four-episode documentary about Studio Ghibli co-founder, Hayao Miyazaki. But this latest story pertains to a very special gift that is bound to infuse our daily online and video meetings, a staple of remote work for quarantining employees everywhere, with a bit of wonder.
The studio has released a set of eight backgrounds that everyone can use with their videoconferencing apps (although commercial use is explicitly forbidden). The background are available for download HERE. The images are an excellent illustration of the diverse aesthetics of the studio’s titles and allow us, if only for a while, to become a part of the celebrated films and revamp the interiors of our quarantine home offices.
