Naomi Watts Joins Game of Thrones Prequel Cast31.10.2018

The two-time Academy Award nominated actress will be appearing in the pilot for a new series ordered by HBO from Game of Thrones scribe George R.R. Martin and Jane Goldman. The series is the first of five new projects from the Game of Thrones universe that HBO plans on developing.

As per official HBO announcements, Naomi Watts, the highly acclaimed actress renowned for her performances in Mulholland Drive, 21 Grams, and The Impossible, will play “a charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret.” Right now, HBO has only greenlit a pilot but is expected to order a full series. The pilot is supposedly set in the Game of Thrones universe, but thousands of years priors to the events portrayed in George R.R. Martin’s saga and its television adaptation. Fragmentary information revealed by the producers also indicate that their new spinoff series will chronicle “the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour”. The producers have also announced that the new series will explore the origin of the White Walkers and the genesis of the dark legends about House Stark in surprising storylines.
