In cooperation with key partners, the competition staff decided to extend the submissions deadline. Now, ideas can be submitted all the way through March 6, 2022, 11.59pm.
Designed to spotlight emerging talents and aspiring filmmakers, the competition has been organized by the Papaya Films production house every year since 2014. This year’s contest brings a rebrand and a refreshed formula. Papaya Young Creators highlights its inclusive approach to the contributions brought by all the creatives involved with a project and brings new categories and subcategories. Alongside the established Branded Stories and Music Stories comes the new Audio Stories category, brought about as a collaboration between Audioteka and Papaya.Rocks. Joining them are two new TikTok-focused subcategories: TikTok Branded Stories and TikTok Unique Stories.
Persons interested in submitting their idea can now do so through March 6, 2022, 11.59pm. The maximum number of submissions per person/duo, aged 20–35, is three in one category. This allows applicants to submit as many as fifteen submissions, with each having a chance at advancing to the next stage of the competition. The deadline for submitting standalone, completed films in the TikTok Unique Stories category is May 4, 2022.
The jury of this year’s edition of Papaya Young Creators will also feature a slate of figures renowned for their expertise with platform-dedicated content—bespoke TikTok videos, for example—including directors, creative directors, and producers, as well as media personalities and creatives. The team will support selected contestants in the next stage of the competition.
